2007/2008 was a dire season for Eurasat Lions starting early in the summer when no one wanted to train but somehow thought it would come together when the season started.
Injuries, lack of discipline, lack of desire but most of all, a lack of commitment saw us end the year wallowing at the bottom of the league.
Losing Luke at center back (through injury), Gavin from the left wing and Hemsley from the center midfield forced us to move players around but we never really looked the same after their departure.
Despite a squad of 25 players, we didn't manage to field a full team most weeks. 4 weeks from the end of the season we had 14 players turn up (for probably the 1st time all year) and we actually won a good game against very good opposition. Everyone left the pitch on a high, but it was a one-off. The following week we started with 9 players!
We will be back for 2008/2009 better, stronger and we will enjoy it. We have new management taking over and DISCIPLINE AND COMMITMENT WILL BE A REQUIREMENT, so anyone wanting to enjoy their Sunday morning football in 2008/2009 get in touch. graham@eurasat.demon.co.uk
